I need some help urgently- Small Turbo Escort Cosworth
Does anyone in the midlands fancy a go at fixing my Escos? It has had a full engine rebuild, and various other bits changed. Since then, the car has refused to start ... Initially the ECU was cleared, and it ran fine, until the battery went flat. Now, the fault codes on the ECU refuse to clear (snap on scanner), with or without the chip module fitted to the ECU (EEC IV). The car has a Clifford Alarm and the std Ford PATS system, both of which seem to work properly. (its a 1996 N reg car)
The car will turn over, and the fuel pump will prime off the key, but we are getting no spark or fuel. Have tried changing the Edis module, but has not fixed anything, and it has a new correctly gapped crank sensor and new dizzy/hall generator, and the engine timing is spot on.
I am at my wits end now, just don't know what to do .. Only other problem is I can't move the car at the moment, and need someone to visit in normal working hours....PM me if you can help or reccomend someone shit hot with small turbos please!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
i had exactly the same problem with my ST escos ,
went to start it after it had been sat for while and didn't realise the battery was almost flat , turned the key and all the dials did some funky stuff , got the jump leads on it but it refused to start , would turn over and fuel pump would prime but would spark
this was about a week before i was getting a Clifford fitted so i asked the fitter if there was anything he could do , within 15 mins the car was running ! he bypassed the PATS completely as he couldn't see why it was doing what it was , its was recognising the code in the key but just not switching the immobilised circuits back on
if i was you i would ring some local alarm fitters and ask if they are familiar with PATS and see if they are in your area at any time , or try a auto electrician but they wont be cheap
