Default Eating Alone?

I can't go anywhere and eat by myself it just doesnt seem right.

be it a posh restaraunt for dinner, or a bigmac and fries at lunch.

if i'm going out for lunch and i'm on my own i'll have to just grab a sandwich and bring it back in the office.

anyone else like this?

Ate out a few times on my own when i first moved down south...felt like a right gimp!

It's ok in Maccy D's, but felt real odd and slightly sad when havin a pub lunch or proper meal.

Going to the cinema alone is the same.
You feel like such a saddo, like all the couples are looking at you and laughing.
Thankfully I can usually con the wife into watching some of the stuff she wouldnt otherwise like (the new Rambo was a good one ).

Got used to it while working away, so not really bothered, but definately prefer to have company and make it a social event.

It is boring as hell and you do feel a bit of a tool, I normally end up opting for room service if i'm working away and don't have anyone to eat with!

i eat out on my own, i been to the cenima on my own, i can do lots of things on my own

but i'm of the same onion as chip in that it's much preferable to have company, but when i was young free and single, a free for a year cimena voucher meant i would still have to pay for someone else to come with me to watch a film, so i did the honerable thing and went on my own 3 tiems a week

but how can you feel silly eating a sandwich on your own jim

Depends on the situation. I wouldn't go into a Chinese/Indian restaurant etc on my own and order a meal. But I would pop into a pub for a bar meal during the day on my own or to Maccy D's etc if I was on my lunch at work - Just take a newspaper with me and read that

I love my own company.

Usually sit at my desk with a sandwich, but i've seen myself go an buy a paper, sit in a cafe for half an hour, read the paper an grab some food.

Or arranging to meet mates at the pub on a saturday afternoon for the football, occasionally I'll nip in an hour early, with a paper, get a pint in an chill out, don't see nothing wrong with it tbh, i'm my own best friend

Cinema etc is a different thing, that IS a social event, imo.

I prefer to go with people from the office and do usually. Unfortunately if I'm on site visits my lunch normally ends up bein McDonalds, KFC etc and I feel like a Billy no Mates so get it to take away and eat in the car.

Couldn't agree more. Should also add at this point, I do have loads of friends and a girlfriend Always someone i could go for a meal/pissup/civil pint with, just sometimes being myself is as enjoyable.

I nearly always eat alone - seeing as I work on my own and live on my own

If it's lunch at work, then unless I am in the office that day, I'll be out in my van so it's either a sandwich in the van, or stop in MacDonalds/whatever. Don't bother me at all sitting there on my jacks - why should it?

That said, I don't go out to resturantes or pubs and order food and sit on my own and eat - I usually have friends company on those occasions...

But a working lunch is completely different. sure it's nice to have someone there from time to time to talk to, but most of the time I just wanna stop, eat, carry on working so I can go home - and eat alone... Again
