Default My Car on the rollers - Update 16th Feb 2010

Lets have a guess at the bhp and lb/ft

Shead reckons: 430 bhp and over 400 lb/ft

Chip says 425bhp

I'm going to say 422bhp 415 lb/ft

add your guess's if you want.

NO PRIZE FOR THE NEAREST

No real idea Richy.

but from what youve said its going to be in the 420 - 430bhp area, and you seem to be very happy at how the car performs, so i say - who gives a fook what it makes

Rich, my guess is 425bhp / 425 lbft
and I reckon peak torque will be at 4500rpm or so.

Mike, its on a bd14 inlet, and the boost is 2.3 bar IIRC, on a baby GT30 internally gated turbo (3071)

I think that is a given, but I also believe I can guess the answer to that (or have assumed where it is going anyway) .

Doug,
If I had the boost pressure, I could look at the compressor map and see what airflow it was doing at this amount of pressure to get a rough estimate of the power .

Assuming 2.2 bar, I will "guess" at 430-440bhp. If it has a big mid-range spike of 2.5 bar (as Mark seems to favour), then I will guess the peak torque at 420-430lb ft.

The video i put up the other day was at 2.1 bar. I am pretty sure it will be more than that when mapping is finished on thursday morning (providing its not raining )

Dont know what the peak boost will be Mike but around 2.4/2.5 would be a good guess.

Rod - naturally you are always invited mate

I cant wait.

I will jump on the bandwagon and say it doesn't really matter as long as you like it. It looked like it was going well off that video you posted.

Guess @ 417 bhp and 411 tq.

Can you post full engine spec/approx cost? From video it looks like it went really, really well without blowing well the wrong side of £10k on an all singing all dancing 500 bhp engine.
