Sorry but there is a world of difference between practicing curving a ball etc and genius, if David beckham could sit down and demonstrate to 3 decimal places the forces involved in one of his curve balls and why it bends by the amount it does etc, Id maybe accept him as a genius, but just getting good at kicking something is a skill, its NOT genius, anyone saying so IMHO doesnt actually understand what genius means

My biggest memory of him was at the world cup where he seemed to make a comeback. Unheard of for ages then boom - he's in the world cup side, in a grey shirt demonstrating the skills he was famous for.

Then after that he seemed to disappear again. I'm sure I heard rumour of him coaching in Japan or something?
I'll never understand what makes folk who have everything go into self destruct mode. He cant have had a worry in the world and yet he pissed it all away.
