reg plates
i recently broke a car not yet scrapped on log book.
i wanted the plate for another car. i phoned dvla and explained this they said the original plate had to come from a roadworthy car with tax and test which is now not possible. is there any other way i can get this number plate onto another car? it was only a standard j reg plate but i just like it.

There was post like this a few weeks back, as mentioned then I once new someone with the same problem -
hyperthetically speaking you could get a dodgy MOT, then tax the vehicle. If the request to inspect the donor vehicle the only option other than loose the plate is to report the vehilce stolen, then wait 12 months to claim the plate back.
hyperthetically speaking of course, I would never suggest carrying this out and certainly would not condone this type of behaviour
