Default Sell complete or break I just can't decide

Its a very sad day for in that due to expanding family and a serious lack of use over the last 2 years the time has come to say bye to the cossie.

What would you do in the current market its not an easy car to sell.

Here is the spec and a couple of pics.

Ford Sierra Sapphire R S Cosworth 4x4 Spec Sheet.

CYLINDER HEAD

Fully ported & polished to touring car spec
Inlet & exhaust manifolds ported to match
2wd Exhaust manifold for superior gas flow
Garrett T34 stage 3 turbo (32psi) with –34 actuator

WRC 3 layer metal gasket

ENGINE

200 Long studded block, fully lightened and balanced

2wd Lightweight flywheel
Fully assembled with ARP fastenings & Vibratechnics Mounts

FUEL/AIR & ENGINE MANAGEMENT

Escort motorsport fuel rail & regulator with Aeroquip lines & fittings
Bosch 403 grey injectors
3 Bar map sensor
Level 8 ECU*with baby Pectel & custom chip mapped by Interpro Engineering
Escort motorsport air/air, water/air intercooler with Pace charge cooler kit
Aquamist water injection controlled with S.E.C.S. engine data monitor

TRANSMISSION

Reconditioned MT75 gearbox with up rated bearings & quick shift
Alcon 6 paddle cerametalic clutch

CHASSIS

Koni adjustable shocks with Avo 25mm lowering springs
Alloy strut braces front & rear
Polybushed front & rear
Wilwood 330x32mm Front discs with 6 pot callipers & Rally Plus Pads, Goodridge hoses

WHEELS & TYRES

8x17 Revolution Group A alloys with 215/40/17 tyres

EXTRAS

Bailey - Header tank, Dump valve, Power steering fluid tank, Oil separator
Spec-R – Turbo Damper, Cam belt cover, Fuse box cover
Samco blue charge hoses & red coolant hoses
Clifford Concept full closure Cat 1 alarm
RS500 Front splitter, Morrette twin headlights, Clear side repeaters

402 bhp & 386 lb/ft Torque

I might just sell of most of the goodies and stoor it for a couple of years and then go for a rebuild again as the shell is mint so it would be a shame to break it up.

i would say sell complete its a pain in the arse selling a car by breaking it, and unless youve got the patience to wrap and post everything its just plain annoying.

I will stick it up in the forsale section later with some more pics etc but it won't be going cheap as it is mint with low mileage and I've spent over 2K on it this year alone on new suspension wheels brakes etc.

before you decide make up a sensible value you'd take for the car complete, then write a list of all the uprated bits and good bits like engine, box, diffs, then do a list of all bits like headlights and bits and bobs...put a price on items on each list. Ignore the second list and compare the good list to your complete value, if it's somewhere near then it wont be as bad as you think breaking it as you wont be too long without the money (good bits always sell well!!!)

Hope that made sense; i'm a little baked right now

I can sell a lot of the bits without problems as I still have alot of the standard parts hence why I might do a rebuild at a later date if I keep it in storage for a couple of years.

Sounds like a good idea to release some cash then dude, sell of some of the high value bits and go back to std..........you could mothball it and use as a semi-investment that you can enjoy in the summer months

Cheers

If I thought I'd get what I wanted for it complete I wouldn't think twice about breaking it as I've spend over 3 years and shit load of money getting it to how it is now.

It would be a shame to break such a nice car. Either keep it or sell it whole IMO

I wish I could keep it Glen but we have another baby on the way and is you know it doesn't get out much as it is although I am thinking of taking it back to a rolling chassis then rebuilding it in a couple of years when I should have some spare time again as I would struggle to find another shell as good as this one.

Can't help you with the brackets mate have you tried Jacko of here.

Its now in the forsale section but I'm still thinking of breaking as I've had some decent offers for some of the bits.

complete.

It would be a shame for another cossie to end up in bits.
At least you know you will get £5000+ for it in one lump sum.

Mate its utter ballache breaking a car, all the shiney bits will go right away and you'll think you're on a winner then you end up stuck with bits forever

youll usually get more if you break it but its a lot of hassle selling bits at a time.

I'm not bothered like I say I will rebuild it in a couple of years or so using what ever is left so for now I'm happy enough to get some money of selling the good bits. I'm not bothered about selling the engine itself unless it was for a very good offer and obviously I don't want to sell any of the bodywork but pretty much anything else is up for grabs.

Some parts and prices already listed here.
