Default need some help on some engine know how

my m8 has a 1.6 cvh engine with wild cams uprated crank etc etc with twin 40`s , however he wants to add turbo to it without doing an rs turbo converion as he has done evrything he can to get power out of the 1.6 cvh. it may be cheaper/easier to do an easy engine swop etc but aint an option in hes eyes. but what he wants to know is can he keep the 40`s and add the turbo i havnt seen it done and also reckon you cant do it but just putting the question out there ... ??

Yes you can turbo a carb'd car. But it will be expensive and i'd imagine bloddy hard to set up.

Also, cvh's have a cam, not cams

How many camshafts does a CVH have??

As for turbo'ing the carbs, a lad on here tried it in an XR2, and while he could get it to run quite well, he couldn't get the carbs to stop leaking fuel.

I'd just sell all the n/a bits, and buy an EFi cvh turbo from a FRST.
