Default Harnesses without a cage

I saw something ages ago in a thread where someone stated that it's not the best idea to have harnesses when you haven't got a cage.

I'd like some in my 205 but i'd like to keep the interior as it is as it's mint. Just like to be pinned in when i get it on track. which is exactly why it was said its not a good idea in the event of a rollover.

Another option is to mothball the standard interior and put in some buckets and have a cage made thats doesn't require hacksawing my interior, which is obviously dearer than an off the shelf bolt in effort.

any thoughts?

Buckets hold you in place miles better than harnesses, if you can only have one and not the other.

But no reason not to have harnesses without a cage.

i had harnesses and no cage, using the seat mounting points i dont see any reason why they would be less addiquate than seatbelts

cheers for the replies.

The comments before were on another site and i think their thoughts behind it were that if you're pinned in securely with harnesses and you're in a rollover without a cage you cant move and potentially will be at risk of further injury.

You've all confimed what i already thought though just wanted other opinions. Will bolt in some harnesses when she's done and see how i get on. i know they're not great on them but they will look cool as with the standard seats too. Didn't fancy one of those cg lock things.

Yeah - the issue is you are rolling over and can't curl yourself into your seat to protect your head, so your head gets wasted against the roof.

I had seats n harness, but just lowered the seat BIG TIME so that my head was further from the roof.

Its a call u have to make
