Karting - November 16th
RS Racing are holding a days 'arrive and drive' karting at Matchams Leisure Park at Ringwood in Dorset on the 16th November.
The day will be for around 20 to 30 people and the cost for a full day's racing will be around £250 to £300 depending on numbers. That might sound expensive, but is comparable to a trackday in your own car when you consider the cost of entry, fuel and wear and tear. In addition, at the karting event you will get properly marshalled racing, not just driving for fun like on a trackday, so this is really a chance to see who is the fastest.
The day will be split into groups of 10 or so, and each group will get an 8 lap practice session followed by 3 x 12 lap race heats, semi finals and a final.
The karts will be 125cc two stroke Rotax Max karts putting out 28bhp from an 80kg kart (equivalent to 350 bhp/tonne) and will do a lap average of about 50mph with a top speed of 75 - 80 mph. These are not your usual fun kart with lawnmower/generator engine, they are proper karts with electric start and a centrifugal clutch. As it's 'arrive and drive', all you need to turn up with is your own helmet.
If anyone is seriously interested in getting together a group, or maybe a corporate group, to join in, contact Dave Drabble on 01256 760633

This could be a massive PF session to see who can back up their claims of being able to drive
