Default X5 Suspension fault query. anyone?

I have heard of the rear air suspension propblem on x5's before but mine has been fine. However on thu i attached a trailer (cheers andy ) and immediately got a "self level susp inact" warning in the dash. Now this has stayed on since.

Is it likely to have fucked something?! seems an awful coincidence it happened when sticking the trailer on.

What is usually needed to fix it?

Does it cause a problem with the suspension if you leave it like that?

cheers

hmmmmmmmmm was the battery disconnected at any point?

Obviously the selft levelling suspension will become inactive when youre towing, but the light should of gone off as soon as the trailer was unhooked.

no it wasn't.

Andy had a quick read of the manual while towing and tbh i forgot about it all weekend. He says there is a light as well as the warning in the display. i've only seen the display bit.

i may have found something on google. when going to plug in the trailer electrics the boys found a rather weird euro pin socket. I think they mightve fiddled with the wiring. It seems that the tow bar wiring might go back through the same electrics where the susp pump is and cause this fault.

hmmm
