Is it just me or was the BTCC a much better motorsport back in the 80's and 90's, too young to remember the 80's but been watching vids on youtube, the racing was so much more exciting.
And the cars were loads better than the modern day equivalents.

Anyone got any links to some more descent clips?
Cheers

Seeing the RS500's and M3's was and still is (to look back), great, and they're far more powerful than todays, but I think the racing is far more interesting today tbh, always bank on door-to-door, bumper-to-bumper action, the field is always pretty close together, cars are pretty evenly matched throughout.
It was best from about 1994-1998, then when lots of changes started to happen it really went downhill for a few years, then from 2005-onwards it's been back to its best again

Great driving from mansell and trust him to do that with a guest seat in a BTCC car
I enjoy BTCC now as much as i did back then- actually watch some and you'll see wot i mean, very close competitive racing specially when they start knocking about the RWD bmws

Loved the RS and M3 days, both being cult cars, but for action and entertainment its gotta be the mid 90's, a grid lined with all makes of cars, ford, datsun, vauxhall, ovlov, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Mazda, BMW, Renault, Honda, Pugrot etc,
Past couple of seasons its just had no appeal to me at all.
