Check for live and earth at the motor itself, then if no joy check for live at the switch, in/out to different speeds, if this checks out ok most likely the resistor pack, especially if full speed still works as this is direct and not through the resistor.

i had this on my mk4 fiesta, changed the heater resistor and everything worked fine. I would suspect this is at fault.

if it doesnt work at all it ISNT the resistor, if it was it would only work on full speed..as you have said that it doesnt work at all then start at the motor and work backwards..

If the motor doesnt work at all on a mk3 its the relay.
You may also find your rad fan also doesnt work which is even more serious.

Find the relay and replace it. Simple job.

Edit: I think its a green one under the fusebox,

Net diagnosis is great.
By the time you get an answer you've already fixed the problem.

Nah, seriously you chaps are all great.
(I'd best be nice whilst still posting questions about my piece of shit escort in the tech section )

I changed the resisitor pack on a mates Laguna - it was right by the motor/fan housing itself.
Yes, I know a laguna isnt a fiesta but theres plenty of space where the motor lives so it seems as good a place as any to stick the PCB.
