hydraulic clutch prob?
just bought a engine and box(4x4) for my saph that i'm building, problem is that the box has got a hydraulic clutch fitted to it, i dont think its a reyland 1 as its not a concentric, its got a slave mounted outside the box, anyhow does anybody know who does these or what master cylinder to use or where to get 1, it came out of an escort that was built by andy gallacher, i dont know if this was what was in the car when he had it or ifs been done since as its been thru a couple owners since then, any ideas would be heplful thanks

Only car i've felt it on is dangerous's escort and i have to say its a hell of a lot lighter than my own car! Seems like a worthwhile mod and i'll be doing it when my box is out

The master cylinder needed is easy to work out when you know the bore of the slave.
I did it on my dad's xr4i(when we v8'd it) as said massively lighter clutch with none of the stickiness of the cables, easy to adjust bit points to suit as well, I used a leyland sherpa V8 master cylinder on ours, but obviously going to be different on yours.
There is a massive range of slaves/master to choose from though, just consider the STROKE/BORE of the slave as this wil dictate what master is most suitable after you have measured stroke of the master(ie pedal movement), I had to mount the master with brackets on the pedal box, and the reservoir is in the engine bay bolted to the bulkhead.
MAGNUM engineering did hydraulic conversions to fit inside sierras yeasr ago.
