Default canceling a mobile phone contract

My contract is up in the next few weeks and i want to change network provider, so what do i, wait till a couple of days before its up and ring or can i just ring any time now and say cancel it after the date?

Obviously if i say cancel it now they will want to charge me wont they

Just tell them you wont be re-newing your contract with them and it will end on the given date. Make sure you cancel the direct debit with your bank though as they have a habit of just carrying it on and still taking payment out, even though you cancelled it or let it lapse, orange are very guilty of this, which is one of the reasons why i will never go back with them no matter what deal they offer me!!!

Ive found you can go over by a few weeks and they just charge you pro rata.

do u definately wanna change providers? because when u phone to cancel they offer u loads of stuff usually. free phones and reduced line rental etc.

when ever my contract is about to run out i never ring the upgrades people always the cancelation dept.
im just hoping one day when i say "i would like to cancel my contract" they dont turn round and say ok sir that all done for u now. lol

Yeah well if they make me an offer i cant refuse then i may take it, depends how good the offer is
