Default Best Car Trackers

I will be needing to have a tracker fitted when i get the M3 so having been having a look around, bmw themselves reccomend 'TRACKER' as their choice to use and for their TRACKER MONITOR system its approx £475 fully fitted.

Anybody have opinions on this or other makes out there or cheapest place to have 1 fitted etc etc

i am near southend in essex,

thanks
marc

They are all a waste of money IMHO as the proper theifs, steel the cars put them in a metal trailer (Makes cars undetectable) Search for tracking device and remove it.

Tracker is your best bet...

Avoid RAC Trackstar like the plauge, unless you want a bodged in unit, Crap customer care and 8/10 a car that cant be tracked!

Really - surely what you refer to being a bodged in unit refers to the person who fitted the system poorly not the actual system itself?

A mate of mine has had 2 cars stolen in the last 2 years & both found & recovered within 45mins with RAC Trackstar system in use

As for customer care they've been excellent for me - when my old Clio v6 was being recovered after an accident on a trailer to a garage i received a call within 5mins of it being moved from RAC asking if i knew the location of my car, etc

Thats very true.... But if a customer didn't have a bad install or a faulty unit it was a miricle....

Ask people on scoobynet what they think of rac trackstar...

I used to work there..... and would advise if you have RAC Trackstar is to ring once a month to do a test track and check its still working.

I found the tracker in my M3 within 5 mins.

Waste of time IMO but for some reason insurance companies like them.

Amazing why trackers are needed to insure M3's but not cossies.
