Default FAO Boxxer, Commencal Combi Disc 08 OR Specialized P2 All Mountian??

As per title.

Cousin is mountain bike shopping just now through ride to work scheme. I got myself a rockhopper and they took them down from 600 to 450 () but none left for him.

He's basically down to choosing between the Commencal Combi Disc 08 or the new unreleased Specialized P2 All Mountain.

Any suggestions/comments on these bikes??

cheers

chop

i could have done ya a RH for that price AND chucked in loads of goodies.

Anyway...

You will find the Spec to be a MUCH better specced bike. Go to both websites and compare the specs, MOSTLY the little bits you CANT see, like Bottom brackets, hubs, etc.

Commencal havent been around for that long, and TBH, specialized hold a monopoly over over brands as they are so huge.

we both work for same company who ONLY use edinburgh bicycles for ride to work

i figured the specialized might be better but its a bit cheaper at £450?? is that right? Bike doesnt come into the shop until next week so cant even see it. i guessed specialized might have better resale too?

is it on 08 model? And is it the disc version? (retails @ £600).

If its 08, thats the new price for them as they are quickly trying to knock them out before 09' stuff comes out next month.

yeah, v-brake is £500, Disc is £600

The P2 is more of a freeride/jump bike type thing, meaning is stronger, but heavier. Also, its much More flickable than the RH, as thats designed for XC use only.

join the club!

but mines all muscle and length ofcourse....

the only thing with the P2 is, its not REALLY designed to be used for really long rides. Its more of a play bike i would say. all the geometries are different, although its still very comfortable.

The commencal is in the sale at £400. is that worth a look in over spending £600 on the 09 p2?
