What car 4-5k
Right then folks. As the BMW is up for sale i honestly dont know what to replace it with as anything with be a lot crappier due to the change in value.
Im looking for a car between 4-5k ideally. Not more than 5 years old and would be nice to get under 80k even better sub 60k miles. It has to be ok on Fuel and 100% relible.
Im thinking Golf TDI, or even a 182 sport but not sure i could live with one after using the 330d. Opinions?

Why not another 330d if you liked yours so much?

Rhys, I love me VRS. Ive owned it since end of May this year and still look at it going "That looks nice" when its clean. Me Mrs gets in it and says "Thats so easy to drive" as it requires no effort, unlike most the other cars we associate with lol. The quality is ok, I like the interior and some of the parts can be found in VW's, Audi's, etc (I saw the same dash in a Audi iirc the other month)...
I looked at Fabia VRS's, but I look after my neice, nephew and 8yr old son so space was of importance... Im 6foot 6 also and drive very comfortably...

Good on fuel, obviously not as good as a 1.9tdi but i get mid 40's on a run, and stop start traffic back and for work i get mid 30's. Bloody good for 3ltr auto. Fookin love the thing! lol
Yellow goota admit not fan of ibizas.
Yeah quite like Boras, and do get a bit more than equiv Golf.
Skoda is another possibility, though i think may have to go and test drive one before make mind up on one of those.

I had a Bora Turbo Diesel company car, only diesel I have ever had that used to wheel spin like crazy with the traction control turned off and it pulled like a train - lovely car if you dont need the practicality of a hatch

My mate has a 182, although its fast and very nippy i don't think i would be able to live with it everyday after me now owning a Golf - French build quality and all. I think you'd be in the same situation after a BMW.
I'd recommend a Golf GT TDI, i know someone who had one (high miler) that returned 56mpg everyday on the way to work. His brand new 320d only manages 42mpg at best.
In terms of build quality between the Golf and 3 series i don't think they're THAT different.
Cheers
