Default Scrap value of radiators?

I,ve just replaced all my old radiators, and was wondering if its worth taking the old ones to the scrappy? Are they likely to be worth much. I have 18 in varying sizes?

I know the price of scrap is pretty good just now. Especially copper and aluminium. But no idea what rads are actually made from?

In glasgow you are getting 1k per ton of aluminium and copper is going at a good price, not as good as it was a few years ago when you where getting junkies and idiots stealing copper pipes and frying themself when they try cutting through live main cables lol

yeh coppers the best return.

i had about a ton of scrap iron/steel in my truck and got a measly £60
in the front i had a large bucket of copper waste (from my plumming jobs) and that made me £55!!!!
and a landrover bonnet which is ally made me £20.

so the end of the day steel/iron isnt really worth much for the ammount off effort, but still nice. i usually find my scrap steel will retun enough for a good drink, and copper and alloy will give you enough for a nice meal out!

clean copper is between £3 and £4 per kilo just now up here . i only got £90 for a load of thin aluminium sheet that was cladding my old 6x6 garden shed . i was disappointed with that. i was pleased to get £165 for an old escort that i scrapped, that was more than i expected. also the price of marine (316) grade stainless steel was under £2 per kilo.
what are general car radiators made from? are they ali or copper?

classed as "dirty" ally - ally cores and fins with metal/plastic frames.
