i took up tig welding about 6 months ago, bought a cheap AC.Dc tig plant of ebay from a local supplier with footpedal etc, its very costly to setup, gas/reg/rods etc
but i needed to learn, now i just weld to my hearts content, pretty much anything, but there are a world of rods, tungstens, shrouds that you will need to do differant material.

but to you original question, yes that will do, but seams very costly for a chinese tig plant.

We have a good TIG plant that we bought a while ago. It was 2nd hand, but in really good condition. We have all the bits (foot pedal etc etc). Gary was talking about selling it. Not sure how the price will compare, but this is a Migatronic one I think, which is very good.

MIgatronic is a very good make.
You don't need to go manual if you set it to auto then just don't use the pedal.
You also get a few millions shocks to start with, when you accidentally touch the tip.
You could just get a better mig set to do aluminium/SS as well.
