Any recomendations on which one to get and from where?

Oh and I'vwe currently got a CD writer and DVD player in the box of tricks, is it the case of removing one of them to get a dvd writer in there?

no not at all, it dependant totally on how may IDE channels you have.

u can have a maximum of 4 devices on most motherboards, but to be honest, i would sell the cd and the dvd and have the one unit do all.

make sure it has dual layer capabilities and go for a good make.

That looks quite good for the money as well, is the spec on that a good 'un, as I'm a bit wet behind the ears on some of this modern technolgy malarky

I got a Sony DW-U18A .. quality drive, Ł45 from microdirect.co.uk
