Default Another Vivaro/Primastar Question.

I serviced my 52 plate primastar with 92k on it the other day and found a few small metal filings in the fuel filter housing. I know these vans suffer with fuel pump issues but will it defo be the fuel pump on its way out or could it come from somewhere else. Filter had been in for 10k ish and there were only minimal filings and were all very small, you could only seem them when the light caught them right.

Why on earth i bought a primastar other than a Transit il never know.

Also where could i find the part number on the pump cant see it anywhere, also how do the fuel pumps differ from year to year and model to model?

Thanks, any help much appreciated.

yes mate it will only be the pump causing it!have you had any running issues?if not just clean it out fella!nearly all of them specially higher mileage ones will always have some bits in the filter!just dont run these low on fuel!always try and keep it above a quarter of a tank!

No running probs,a engine wise. Some cluts at a garage did put too much gearbox oil in when fitting a clutch. I drove it over 200 miles the other day and it ran a dream.

Il just keep my eye on it shall I. Also someone suggested it my be the fuel lines corroding.

All that swarf will be going around the whole fuel system including clogging up the injectors. Expect it to die on you one day and cost a small fortune to put right!!!
