30-32mpg if driven steadily I find on my 04 twincab Warrior

things to look out for - 2003 models had dodgy heads and can be an issue, viscous fans are prone to failing and the temp will then climb once driven above 60mph, radiator cap is a service item that no-one ever changes (faulty cap is easily spotted if the rad hoses are sucked flat when the engine cools).

Servicing wise - full filter kit from Milners is £12 delivered (or £45 from your local factors), brakes, oils and other stuff are easy to do.

If it has been driven offroad, make sure that it is thoughly cleaned underneigth and in the engine bay after each outing

Service intervals are about 9000 miles, cambelts MUST be changed at 54k and then 108k - make sure it has been done.

Other stuff, good solid ride, easy to work on and very good fun offroad

Great car for all the fun you want - and if you want to play off-road, then lift the suspension 2" and you're sorted

Forgot to mention above, the Animal has the "mitsubishi power upgrade" as standard - 35bhp more and torque to 200lb/ft

Thanks very much for the info and piccies

I live out in the sticks and fancy a bit of 4x4 fun for a while as im bored with cars just now but still need a practical motor with the crewcab.

Even thought about buying a tow-a-van trailer for valeting stuff and just selling the van and my car lol

Getting more and more tempted as i see some places aaint that exspensive to buy these

You won't be dissapointed. - Very capable car, all you need to have lots of off-road fun and green lane entertainment is a set of propper tyres (I have Kumho KL71 on mine - superb mud tyre with low road noise)

having owned an L200 I wouldnt have another, crap of fuel, turning circle is poor and they have no power and run out of steam about 70 MPH due to pulling very high revs,Iam tolf the new L200 are much better, the best one crew cab to buy is to D4D Toyota Hilux,I have run one for the past 4 years and cannot fault it,it could do with a bit more power up against the newer more modern crew cabs, but you can lways chip it
I have just sold my mate Hilux which was a 03 for 7.5K it was a minter

I wouldn't of thought you'd get any better MPG in a 4x4 than anyone above has said my range rover only does 24.6 - 25 average acorrding to the display. If you've never been off roading it is great fun and something you can do when its raining.

the ford ranger is SHITE on fuel and the older one feels like a tractor inside, same as the older nevara(04 version)

the nissan pathfinder is a nice motor though, when i was at nissan i used one of the demos as my daily hack and was REALLY comfy inside

i had a shogun and it was shit on fuel, anyway you would be better off burning a nice big pile of £50 notes than buying a 4x4 just now and i aint joking

Road Tax is £180 a year - commercial vehicle, so doesn't get bumshoffled by the car tax bands
