Default Sapphire heated windscreen in a 3 door.

Heard it can be done with a few small cuts to the bottom of the screen. Does anyone have any pics? Need a heated windscreen for the 3 door.

Thanks.

The Mark One screen has rounded bottom corners, and the Mark Two has squared. Not sure if they are the same apart from that, but is it possible to cut laminated glass?

I've been told you can get heated Mk 1 screens, though I've never seen one.

Err, no - you can't make "cuts" to a screen And anyway, you'd end up cutting the heater elements anyway as they run to the edge of the glass so it wouldn't function anyway...

It is worth a call??

Mike @ Templar is the man to speak to about this, pretty sure if there was enough interest he'd make some 3dr ones, he did batches of screens for a group buy a mate of mines was involved in.

The RS200 had the option of a heated front screen and its the same as a Mk1 Sierra.

Good luck finding one though

To fit a saff screen you dont cut the screen you cut the metal out of the shell surround to make it fit

Might be some Mk1 heated screens still around in Mainland Europe, as they wont have been made specifically for the RS200, just a parts bin raid, probably an option on Mk1 Sierras in the Scandanavian countries - Fordpartsuk might be able to source one as they have access to Fords european parts system.

Jay, he ordered the screen before he put this post up, but I think we should hold fire until he confirms he is happy to mod the shell to suit .

There's always the cheaper option.....de-icer and in car fans.

You will also need the heated screen loom from a saff - its a chunky piece of kit with some hefty supply wires and relays in it

Just group-buy the buggers.
The lads on Xrtwo.com did a similar thing last year.
Get enough orders in and you can get a half decent price, probably cheaper than trying to source one from some obscure european dealerships parts shed.

It's a race car, so it won't have fans / heaters, and I can't see him needing a de-icer in Australia . It's for when the car mists up in the rain etc....

should be, but theres loads of saffs being broken and I would think a used heated window subloom would only be buttons and save some hassle with the install at the aus end

I havnt got any pics of the "cuts" you need to make..But if you lay a screen in situ its pretty easy to see where it catches at the bottom of each corner..

I cant keep posting the same boring pics...i'll get slaughtered on here
