Default Saphs at national day from on track.....

Did ANY survive?

They seemed to be be blowing up, crashing, spluttering, spinning, left right and centre.

I reckon only about 1 in 10 cars on track was a saph, but about 9 in 10 red/yellow flags involved one

I know what you mean jim, however, the last session in the Inters group, your m3 seemed to be smoking a bit from underneath, oil on exhaust or summat?? It seemed to be worst down craner curves!!

I think it was probably just oil residue from the saphs in front burning off his exhaust.

PMSL. Most of the cossies in fairness were blowing out a fair mist of fuel/oil/exhaust gasses!

i thought i saw a small bit of smoke out of the car at one point, but we watched for it and couldnt see anything. did it look like it was coming from the exhaust?

i also had the ABS light flicker for a second when launching in 1st, i suspect something might be broken

That would probably be the twat in the Pug 205 dropping oil all the way round the circuit . I nearly lost it on his oil and pulled alongside him and gave him the evils and he continued on oblivious .

I decided that it would be best to end that session until they had cleared up his mess .

I was behind in the primera, and managed to hang on for nearly half a lap (LOL), it was coming from underneath, not out the exhaust, as though something was leaking onto the exhaust or summat. It wasnt horrendous, and TBH, you may never have spotted it in the mirror, it seemed worse as you lifted off the gas.

I think that is the car that fiesta that spun in front of helen was behind, maybe that explains the fiesta's problem, as he looked to be going well and I saw no reason at all for it to spin as suddenly as it did.

Helen did VERY fucking well to avoid the fiesta, could have been a really nasty accident!

LMAO

You sorted ordering those ITB pipes yet?

If not, get some ordered sharpish and we will get them on ASAP, as TBH thats the main cause of hickups on your car I reckon.

chip, theyre fixed.

and i had no "hiccups" on the way home at all (and i was properly pedaling ) i'm thinking maybe it was the track surface, i was confusing small bumps with engine problems?

wporried about that ABS light flickering when i launched it in first tho (altho it may have been the seatbelt light, couldnt see well )

got to love the fact jims worried about the fact he maybe saw a light, which could have been one of a couple of circuits no one gives a fuck about.

if it was a vauxhal or ford hed have so many more issues he wouldnt even be thinking about little lights flickering

Indeed, on his Saph he considered it a good reliable day if the car hardly caught fire at all, and only needed relaying once or twice.

it seems you can own a car where you see your credit card for fuel more often than your AA card?

just taken it to the garage as this post scared me

warning light was brake fluid level warning thing, sensor's playing up a bit
hesitation at 5k is a faulty CAM SENSOR... d'oh! pisser to change aswell aparently
no oil leaks or anytihng form the engine, could possibly be the gearbox breather, aparently these sometimes spit out on track, but more likely to be the leaking washer fluid hitting something hot.

Both inlet and exhaust cam sensors are easy to change Jim, and Ł50 each so no big deal; fiddly but not a pisser.

One allen headed bolt, and 2 10mm headed bolts to remove plastic shield from the sensor connectors, sense of achievement doing it yourself surely?
