Depends for how long?

I'm sure you could make a 1200bhp YB on tons of nitrous for about 2 seconds

Best ive heard of on pump fuel, is 745bhp, which was Rod's

I beleive that to be pretty much the ultimate road spec YB!

Surely road spec ones have to last more than a few dyno runs?

Not a dig at them, as its amazing, and id expect it would last, but until stuff is proven, I dont think anything is anything really.

I agree, dyno's prove nothing that matters long term.

My own belief is that on pump fuel, that engine would not have failed, it was only when running LOTS more timing and race fuel it had an issue.

Thats why I said "I believe", because nothing has been proved with it yet.

I hope mark does a similar spec motor for a customer who runs it only on pump though, would make a truely monstourous road car and at sensible (well ish, lol) fuel prices too.

I am not a fan of race fuel power figures for road cars, I dont know anyone who runs their road car on 120RON fuel all the time, so whats the point in quoting it if its a road car?

VS Motor was Lasse's (sp) car IIRC and it made 604hp? I think, then it went to a 650hp Volvo Turbo lump and now it's back on a YB

Rod's engine is 2150cc I think mate, a little more than 2ltr

Thought it finally made 784bhp and 543lb/ft? I'd have to dig the first PF feature out to be sure though!

When did it go back to a YB? It was packing a Volvo engine at Gatebil and that was literally a few weeks ago.

Didn't Jenspeed get 872 out of one? Sure I saw a video on youtube. And that Ralf Klypen (sp!) who has the white 500 has a 779 bhp Jenspeed engine.

Chip, i agree and disagree if that makes sense.. yes what Mark and co have done with/to Rods saff is a great achievement, but where and how could 745/575lb/ft really be used as a road car?? i'm pretty sure it'd be a pig to drive, i'm not talking about lag either, just general power terms.

I've always thought a PROPER stage 3 cossie is just dead on for a road car imo, nice strong 360/360 is a good package and tbh there's not that many cars that'd trouble you, Evos, odd scooby etc.

Just my 2 penneth..

Leif has sold the Escort.
But I think that one is the most powerful YB without nitrous.

Simply not interested in less Power been there done that, if you believe that having more Power makes your car slower you are badly mistaken, all my conversions have made my car quicker wherever they are, driving changes have to be made for sure, but please dont kid yourself you would keep up you would get destroyed by a very large margin. You have obviously driven my car so know its a pig, funny how people with relatively little Power always know how a big Powered car will drive, fact is they dont.

Rod, where the fook have i said in the above statement your car is slow?? i was praising what you've achieved FFS..

I just said i think a good stage 3 cossie makes a good road car, you REALLY do jump onto people when you're car is mentioned in anyway..

So your saff would be be quicker than a 450 bhp Evo round the b-roads then?? Errr NO.............

Where did he say it was a pig? Actually, where did he say half of the stuff you have mentioned, he never. You're so far up your own arse it's unreal.

I think what Pete was getting at, Is a 'good stage 3' road car, is good on the road, its quick, and not many other cars you come up against will beat you (very rarely anyway)...

Obviously, more power is quicker. But speed/power is nothing without control.

Thanks Rad....

Wasn't having a DIG @ Rods Saff at all, but he just reads into things SO wrongly..

Course i know MORE power is quicker.. but i'd imagine a 750/575 RWD Saff is hard work as a road car, that's all i said Rodders..

The engine with 921 was in the white/yellow/black rallycross Escort at first, NOT the blue Escort. The blue Escort was then sold to Leif Nilsen without engine and running gear. These parts were used from the rallycross car and the blue car was then painted silver...
And Leif Nilsen does not own the silver Escort anymore, its sold again.

Quick Reply: Whats the most power thats been had out of a cosworth??
