Glad to hear she's all running sweet for you now Lee, what was the missfire in the end ? fingers crossed the weather stays dry for you at nat dat,, hoping to get there myself & will be great to see the bath tub out on track looking forward to seeing some sideways action from you lol....

I suspect that a new dizzy cap / leads / rotor arm will be needed to run much more boost though as the plugs that came out werent bad at all, so to me it looks like other issues as well causing the spark to be weak (im actually expecting when we turn the boost up, for the misfire to come back and us to have to find a happy medium where it works ok but makes a little more boost than now)
Its not worth changing the leads etc now, as Lee is going coilpack shortly, so this issue will go then anyway.

The old plugs LOOKED fine though... and I had used these before in Sierra with no problems! Great plugs IMHO
Soooo after speaking to Gaybum, I suspect the other end the plug has worked loose and thats the reason.

and did you know the Turbo had a restrictor in it? we took that out
and Stu the Bufty cleaned the restrictor ?!?!?!? er why???

Nope, not the case IMHO, Stu can double check this, but I am sure that they werent loose, its something I would have noticed when handling them.
IMHO the rest of the electrical system is causing a weaker spark, and better plugs we swapped in are now just about allowing it to cope, I dont believe there is a problem with the old plugs as such, other than just those plugs dont give a massively strong spark anyway even when they are working correctly, compared to some other plugs, as like most manufacturer plugs they have pretty huge internal resistance.
If it was a loose cap on one of the plugs, it would have meant that one plug was the only one misfiring, and it would have shown up in a difference in colour between that plug and the other ones, there was no such difference IMHO

Weirdly thats EXACTLY what I replied to Rainbum, word for word!

Well done guys for all your hard work on Yorik!
Stu - is Zoe hacked off yet?
And no... no photgraphs of the suit, notu sure im even gonna get my arse in it yet!
Lee.... LMH07 is slowly creeping in.... i can feel it!

LMH08 should be wanting a deal, not just accepting Mikes over inflated web prices to fund his hair restoration project.......
As has been said above, the whole electrical system needs a refresh and as always buying a new mota is a bit unknown.
It did seem to go better in the end with my plugs in and Chip got the AFR's spot on using my 909 fuel pressure reg adjuster.
There ARE still some bits to fix properly on the bodywork but we were so lucky that Chip had seen the Westfield World Rally Car body fixing manual at some point in his life and remembered how to do that.
Its should be OK for ND now with nothing able to fly off! Lee caused a huge traffic Jam coming to mine after an incident with one of the front wings meant he could only do about 5 mph!!! They are all sorted now.
Ive never seen someone get so excited about an air-gun!!!
I cant make ND in the Westy as didnt have any track time, but will pop along in one of my German wagons to take Lee's place once he breaks the Westy. If I do get the bus jumper remmapped tomorow it might just HAVE to do a few laps!!!

Misfire was weak spark, I suggested we rob Stu's known working plugs out of the westy (sorry mate, lol) and that seems to have cured it.

The plugs it did have init were brand new the day before Lee collected it so there must be anouther weak spot in the electrical system , but as you say no point start changing everything over if the car will soon be going over to coil pack etc
Never new the turbo had a restrictor on it?? although thinking about it now there was like a tapered ring thing that screwed in to the turbo i take it thats the restrictor then? how do these actually work ?

They arent really the ideal choice of plugs to be using in some ways, but on the other hand they are filthy cheap, so that makes them a good choice if the rest of the electrical system is so good that you can get away with them.
(071's if anyone wonders which plugs we are discussing)
