Default Solid lifters and cams

Does anyone have any experience with the two types of solid lifters - newman/kent adjustable ones or diesel ones (that need shims)? Would like to know what is best/lasts?

Also going for bd16+ / standard profiles and having trouble finding the lower lift/duration in a solid profile - can anyone help? Already checked newman/kent/cat/piper and four or so calls to the usual suspects without much help.
Thanks

Thanks
