ok ive got my zetec rods and need the small end modifying so i can fit my c20let pistons who can do it for me and how much i will post them to you pay you to carry the work out and pay for them to be sent back any help would be great thanks

he has 2.0 zetec mondeo rods and wants to run c20let pistons so the small ends need opening up

because they cost around Ł40 off ebay for the earler xe FORGED type (pre1990) and are producing 267bhp without any probs i have also had the head off and no sighns of det so why people fuck about with new forged pistons and pay 10 times the price ill never know

because you can get steel rods and foged pistons all new and good for what ever power you want for Ł500 from the usa .

crazycage- Cheap US specials are a crap spec for a high power turbo engine.

They are forged and i have a set my self. The machine company i use reconised these as the early mahle forged xe pistons. The letter 'P' under the crown on the piston tells this.

there is a big jump Ł50 to Ł500 im not that good at maths but i would say about Ł450

yeah you're right but the extra money hets you new piston rings, new steel rods, new ARP rod bolts, would much rather know i had steel rods in my turbo engine than standard zetec rods.

For a small fee you can even get your JE pistons custom spec'd for whatever C/R you want.

That's not actually true- there is only so much you can machine out of the piston and retain a thick enough crown, which is typically a problem when running such a short compression height. I'm curious as to if the Focus RS runs the same length rod as a normal black top - I wonder if anyone knows?
