Default Can you still get Escort Mk4 Parts new from Ford?

I need a radiator and metal water pipe (and possibly fan shroud) for my 1990 Efi Escort XR3i Cabriolet. Can you still get these new from Ford? If you can anyone know the price, or anywhere else I can get them from?

Thanks for that. I actually did wonder whether somewhere like Halfords might be able to get the radiator, if not the other bits.

Is it for a 90 spec efi one mate? It's a fair way to come, but if I can't find one locally I might give you a shout. Many thanks for the offer. Don't suppose you've got any pics you could send to tjatkin@ntlworld.com have you?

Finis for the radiator shroud is 6488797 and was last known to be available.

The radiator itself is discontinued, with no more stock in Europe other than Austria, and 3 in Spain (cost more than they are worth to import them).

The metal pipe than runs across the front under the radiator shroud was obsolete in about 2002 unfortunately. I believe that there is a pipe on the Cosworth models though that modifies quite easily (bend a bracket slightly, etc).

Hope this helps a little.

Also, if you have no luck with your local dealer, try contacting QuickCo on 0161 865 0911. They are the biggest central warehouse as used by Ford dealers in the country. They will supply to the public as well, so well worth checking with them as well.

I don't suppose you've got the big water hoses as well have you, because I had to cut one of mine to get the old radiator out?

If you've got pics of it I could probably tell because I've still got the old one in the garage.

The 1.6 EFI is a specific pipe as it runs from the coolant bottle to the other side of the car to normal (bottle is on the left, not right) and originally came with the metal pipe built into it. Ford, however, have superseded it incorrectly and the pipe you get stops where the metal pipe begins.

As far as I can find, there is no current listing for the metal pipe separately.

You can still get loads of bits - often the dealer is too lazy to get them for you.

No problems.

@ Terreto: if you do find the pipe, can you let me know the numbers off it please. Would help so I can look back through the files and find when it was last listed (as it must have been @ some point in the past) and may be able to find a correctly superseded finis for it.
