why the fuck take it there in 1st place? Lucky it stayed in its place and didnt come loose and fuck up the engine, no doubt they would've been arsey about repairing it.

I'd say the same if it wasn't posted by one of the more respectable members of this forum.
That Allen bit is located in the head bolt and probably can't come out due to the rocker cover. It's not like the engine would be shaking around violently anyway, unless it was fucked.

your lucky it wasnt lined up with one of the cam lobes
it would have made a hell of a hole as the cam pushed it out of the side

They left an engine wrapped around your allen key?
Thats just plain careless... I'd have words with them for that.
On a side note I think I win the free tool comp, based on size, having found a full size crowbar between the radiator and front panel in my XR2.
I shudder to think what they were actually using it for..
