I thought the stolen recovered term only applied to cars declared a total loss by the insurance company, that then turn up after they have paid out.

when my civic got stolen in December, I got a phone call off the police saying theyd found my car,i was more relieved when he told me it was a wreck and was 100 % a write off... no way i wanted it back after some scum had been in it for 5 days !
