bike.
went and bought a Yamaha R6 tonight.
i'm not really into the bikes but my mate bought his brothers and he talked me round to getting my licence sorted before the new test comes out as it will be much harder/ expensive.
so we booked a block booking etc...with everything all booked in ready before the deadline.
as i was looking at the adverts i seen one that would suit me.
its only an 2002 model but with very low milage, never seen rain, looked after like a baby etc...and the price was good, i decided to buy it.
got it delivered earlier on tonight and i must day its mint.
it not my intended colour,i was going for a blue one, but its red and white, and its not that bad.
i will sort a few pics out tomorrow.
roll on my test in a couple of weeks.

Nice knowing you Dave
Kidding of course, I'm sure you'll take it steady to start with at least! When I bought my ZX6R it was brand new, so after passing my test I had to run the engine in, which was a good chance for me to run my self in so to speak - take it steady before giving it billy big balls!
Had a few moments, some of my own doing, but you've also got to watch out for other numbnuts as well!
Enjoy it, I'm sure you will

Have fun
Im self banned from riding bikes, for some reason I just cant be a grown up on one, but I think with starting to ride them in later life (no offence) you'll have a more sensible attitude to it so should be fine

Si,
i will take it easy mate as i'm not confident just sitting on it.
i'm sure i will be fine when i start riding again on the lessons leading up to the test.
Gary,
i sold my golf gti turbo,so thats paid for it. and yes i'm at Ford Fair, i have booked 3 sessions.
Rob,
i will not drive it like the car, i have had my licence for 20 years and its taken that long to be confident in a car....i know i cannot just jump on the bike and do the same...which is a good thing for me.
i'm just as mad as you know.
Maria,
we will see.
S1rst,
my car will not feel slow and boring compared to the bike.
Chip,
i have calmed down with age as you say and i do have responsibilities to think of..that will more than be enough to make me take it easy....and experience etc...
Ballin,
try and see if you can get a block booking like i did.
Tony,
hopefully both won't be needed.
thanks everyone.

It probably will mate im sure, unless you havnt updated your sig and your running twice the power now of course. it will almost certainly knock the edge off the car when you take that out straight after riding the bike.
Bikes are sooooo much more fun than cars imo and in the opinion of everyone biker i know in fact.
Even a 600 will blow your mind once you get used to the bike and start riding it hard. Even though some quick cars are 'as quick' as some bikes, the feeling on a bike of the same speed is immense and nothing like even an evenly matched car for in terms of sheer fun/excitment/adrenaline etc.
Thing is with bikes its much more technical than driving cars and requires much more skill and concertration. That all adds to the excitment in my opinion. Progressing whilst still riding 'safe' and all that.

Gary,
hope your car was sorted ok and i will see you there then.
S1rst,
my car will be about 480bhp when its back but is been about 430bhp for a while.
Ginge,
i was thinking that, but its just things you think of,just got to be sensible on it.
Tim,
its is with Almaxx, Ł299 all in, if you are thinking of doing it with them pm me and i will explain in detail what you get.
Karl,
it had to be done as i like bikes but just been a bit scared to get one to be honest , but with my mate getting one, it had to be done lol, see how it goes etc...its only going to be used when its nice out so it won't be ut that much.
12 years is a very long time without one sort it out.
heres a few pics.
not bad.

looks nice, not sure I would have bought an R6 as a first bike though.
It's not the power but how they ride, you have to be quite commited on them and alot of people I know say they don't like the front end but I guess if your starting from scratch then you will learn to ride it for what it is.
Just take it steady and enjoy it.
PS, ditch the scott oiler. Basic chain maintainence will be more than enough to look after it if you are not riding it in the crappy weather and the last thing you need is the oiler going wrong and emptying it's entire contents onto your back tyre, which is not unheard of....

Looks well nice that does! I prefer the red/black to the blue!! A bloke near me has got one of these (not sure if its exactly this model but looks very much the same!!), its fucking rude! Id love a big bike but ive already had a nasty accident so fuck that! LOL!
