Best roads in wales
Ive got next week off and I was thinking of going up to wales and exploring some of the great roads up there.
So I was wondering which roads people would recommend as I dont wanto waste too much time on straight, boring roads.

If its dry and nice, i'd say somewhere between Lampeter and Abergavenny, on the mountain roads, going thru the black mountains.. anywhere in the black mountains really
some roads out towards Cardigan from Carmarthen are quite good.
I think anyway, cant quite remember for sure.

Arogance is bliss...
The best roads you need to be looking for are in North Wales. So you need to be heading through roads like in Betws-y-Coed, Llanberis, Pen-y-Pass and my wee mini nurburgring in Ogwen. All these are a good basis of Snowdon, and many locations have been used for company pics of Lotus and TVR advertisments...for example, my attempt at pics in RS COUNTRY

travel over to cardiff, then just take the a470 or various other roads and head north, when bored head south

north wales is great for taking a pic of your car but you try driving in and out of north wales regularly and see how many police you spot,they arn't called the taliban for nothing.
quite a few north wales police focus estates carry guns and they wave them about even if they pull you over
now do you still want to drive into north wales ??

Some great shouts there. Looking at the pictures it seems the very best roads are unclassified ones, lots of potential for getting lost lol.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Not driven much in North Wales, but my favourite road in South Wales is the A4233 that goes over Maerdy Mountain, from Maerdy to Aberdare. Loads a twisty bits, hardly anyone around and a big zig zag down the other side into Aberdare!
Other than that I do like the A470 through the Brecon Beacons!

i know where chester is i live there and i'm from north wales,i have lived in north walesyou better ask your old man about the silver focus estates that regularly pull people over and the officers carry guns when they get out even for motoring offences,obviously they don't point them but they carry them across their waist and its enough to scare motorists.
they sit in Broughton on the a5104, its not bollocks so get your facts right

Sorry, are you trying to school me??? Someone who's lived here for 25 years, gone in all circles surrounding cars and with a father in traffic where either armed response vehicles or T5's are parked outside my house??? Me thinks you need a reality check fella, listen to people who know better than you and you might not come off as clueless to the truth...
As for Broughton, man your way outta anywhere of relevance in this thread. That's closer to Chester, nowhere near the good roads around my neck of the woods. Any guns needed here are to fend off sheep

I was in north Wales last week, and the roads are some of the best ive driven on. Abergele to Betws-y-coed, then to Lllanberis was just awesome! Awesome roads with fantastic scenery!
