just to let you all know, the latest n95 firmware has the auto rotate (to rotate the screen from landscape to portrate by just moving the phone) already built in. so no more messing around trying to get rotate me signed.

you need to first download the nokia software updater. then plug your n95 in with the usb cable and run that program and it will update your firmware. make sure you use the nokia pc suite to make a backup first, and the battery should be fully charged (or plugged in to a mains charger)

i updated mine a week or so ago, and this tilt feature is not on there. just checked again, and it says it's still the latest firmware, so why doesn't it work on mine? is it 8gb models only?

nick, the firmwares can also be operator specific. if you debrand the phone you should always see the latest firmwares

If you've got TomTom v6.02 then you can download a little util for it to use the internal GPS on the N95.

When you put Garmin or TomTom on, does that allow voice-guided Sat Nav without having to pay Nokia (or anyone else)?

Does it work as well or better than Nokia Maps Sat-Nav?

If yes to both, how do I get one of them?

garmin uses the internal gps as std,

tomtom needs tweaks, and is fooking great, and once installed is free foreever

i even have gb maps and western europe

though garmin is crap,

tomtom is ace

Dont need to install 6.02 first - just as long as its been copied to the memory card - tomtom.sis installs TomTom when you run it.
