just to let you all know, the latest n95 firmware has the auto rotate (to rotate the screen from landscape to portrate by just moving the phone) already built in. so no more messing around trying to get rotate me signed.
you need to first download the nokia software updater. then plug your n95 in with the usb cable and run that program and it will update your firmware. make sure you use the nokia pc suite to make a backup first, and the battery should be fully charged (or plugged in to a mains charger)
i updated mine a week or so ago, and this tilt feature is not on there. just checked again, and it says it's still the latest firmware, so why doesn't it work on mine? is it 8gb models only?
dont know if it works on the old n95 mine is the 8gb but after installing the latest firmware go into settings, general, personalisation, display, then there should be rotate screen. switch this to automatic. job done. i have been waiting for this for ages but could not get rotate me signed. well happy now
nick, the firmwares can also be operator specific. if you debrand the phone you should always see the latest firmwares
mine was never branded jim
