you need to first download the nokia software updater. then plug your n95 in with the usb cable and run that program and it will update your firmware. make sure you use the nokia pc suite to make a backup first, and the battery should be fully charged (or plugged in to a mains charger)
i updated mine a week or so ago, and this tilt feature is not on there. just checked again, and it says it's still the latest firmware, so why doesn't it work on mine? is it 8gb models only?

dont know if it works on the old n95 mine is the 8gb but after installing the latest firmware go into settings, general, personalisation,display,then there should be rotate screen. switch this to automatic. job done. i have been waiting for this for ages but could not get rotate me signed. well happy now

another tip for people.i know its prob old but last week i managed to install garmin mobile onto my n95 and garmin uses the internal gps reciever of the phone so no external reciever required.just start and nav

btw ive just downloaded latest firmware on my normal n95,now version 21.0.016 but no rotate feature.was getting excited there but it must be for 8gb versions only :-(

yeah james ive tried that with help from lee.no joy though,it just doesnt pick up any satelittes.oh well at least its back on,.phones upto date,lost some contacts though.have tomtom again and garmin works with internal gps.
shame i cant get the autorotate thing.everytime i try downloading it and installing it says certificate error contact supplier.think ill give up on that lol

When you put Garmin or TomTom on, does that allow voice-guided Sat Nav without having to pay Nokia (or anyone else)?
Does it work as well or better than Nokia Maps Sat-Nav?

garmin uses the internal gps as std,
tomtom needs tweaks, and is fooking great, and once installed is free foreever
i even have gb maps and western europe
though garmin is crap,
tomtom is ace

my tomtom works, but only with external bluetooth receiver. couldn't get the application to use the internal one to work. have to try again at some point
