Default Woohoo !!! Found my old series one, went to see it after 11 years!

As some of you know i have been trying to find my old series one that i had in 1998 so that i can build my series one escos, well i got notification from the dvla today of where the owner is!!! Its only 20 miles away. Cant believe it, cant wait to get home and go and see it again, hopefully the guy will sell it! Somehow i doubt it cos i think its the same guy that has owned it for the past 8 years........

Might tell him i want to buy it back to restore it for concours, not to roll it on its side and cut the floor off it for a 4x4 conversion!!

Would be good if you could get it back. Id like to get a few previous cars back too come to think of it.

Out of interest though, do the dvla just give details like this out to anyone? Quite worrying if they do.

does seem abit strange that they would give the details out, someone could sell a car but keep a key, after a couple years find out the address and have it away

Just remembered, A number of years ago I asked the DVLA for any history they had on my old 2wd Sierra Cos. For Ł10 they sent me details on all previous owners inc. addresses. Is them giving out info breach of data protection??

I contacted the dvla using form V888 and told them that i wanted to find my old car so i could buy it back etc. Recieved a reply saying this was not a good enough reason for me to get the info. Talked to someone off here and they said do it again, pay the 2 pounds 50 and tell them that the car in question is on or blocking my property and i want to tell them to move it! It worked a treat, and might i add i still do have the key!!!

Right, i went to see it on saturday. The guy that owned it wasnt in but his father was, after explaining what i was up too he told me that it was now a shell getting restored. The car wasnt at that address but he had the interior inside, i told him that i could tell him from the drivers seat if it was mine! We went in and tirned the seat over and it still had the repair i did 11 years ago! Well long story short the guy phoned me later that night, its still only got 56k on the clock (i sold it at 39500) but its rotten. He invited me to come and see it tonight. Going to go and have a look at my wee baby.

I would love too but he says he isnt selling it. But he did say he would think about it, depending on the state of it I doubt it will be any use, i need a shell thats pretty solid for the conversion and this doesnt sound to good....... really did want to use my old turbo!
