Get the serial number of the watch and ring a local Rolex Dealer to check its not stolen, or has been purchased with a stolen credit card.
Whatever you do dont take it in p/ex without finding this out first otherwise the first time you take it in to have it serviced it will be confiscated.

theres some real good fakes about that use seiko movement anyway so the if it tick tocks its fake aint true anymore
few things to look for are the rolex crown on the winder and the quality of the magnifier on the date if i remember correctly
when iw as a buyer for cash converters i seen sooooooooooo many fakes that when there was a genuine one i thought it was fake ( serious too
oh and they are fooking heavy watches too

As said above, there are some VERY good fakes about..!!
I was in Thailand last week and bought 3 watches from a bloke - two Tag Tiger Woods and a Rolex for £17 each
My mate who was with me likes to collect expensive watches he said there was NO difference between his and the fakes....and he should know, he has the same models as the ones I bought but real ones
Same weight and markings everywhere....

Part of the Furniture
okay once upon a time I had looooooads of money.I had a datejust perpetual motion 72 diamond 18kts rolex price 14k still have a rolex today, thanks mike!! if it is a fake then it will not have swiss made at the bottom of the watch apparently impossible to fake!!!! if that is not there then it is a fake. If you are buying second hand go to a pawn broker much cheaper, and it should always have its documents. if it doesnt then there is a real possibibly that it is fake!

Be very very wary, my mate sells replica Rolex watches, they are identical and all come with paperwork etc..... but they're only worth a few hundred quid........... she sells them at a few thousand ££££ each!!!!!!!!
Personally without paperwork i'd tell the bloke to run and jump, and even with paperwork, I dont think I would agree as it is very hard for jewellers to even spot the fakes from the real ones.
