R.I.P Middlesex RSOC Club, Is This The End??
Well after tonights turn out looks like the Middlesex RSOC has folded. Turned up tonight to meet 2 other member in there cars. Cant belive the club has come to this. The club house was not open again just like last month so we hanged around till 10ish. And then went down the pub. As the Ex Chairman of Surrey RSOC would of loved the idea of getting the Middlesex Group back of the ground again. Did ask Mark the chairman of Middlesex if l could attend a Committe meeting but was never taken up on this offer. So now think it to late but will contact julie to see what can be done if anything. Think there should be a little more contact regards the Main Club and the Regional Groups I totally understand that it take more than 1 Member to run the club and think Mark has done a great job so well done Mark, but feel now he has moved on what a loss he will be because he did make that one of the biggist clubs within the RSOC. I do hope this is not the end of the Middlesex Group because there is some really nice members out there that want this club to continue. If any members would like to make comment on this please do because it might save the club

hiya
i think we have been down this road before......i have given up attending ...
when the club was deteriorating it should have been sorted then by the comittee by handing the responsibilty to someone willing..... and i think its too late to recover it!!!
sorry if i sound negative but i've had enough of turning up to a poor turn out as it is a waste of time !!!

hiya dave
i shall have a word with julie if ya like , but Lance was taking over the middx and i was gonna be backing him with the extra commitments etc !!!
but if it has gone way down hill , can it be fixed??

Must say that tonights middlesex meet was a bit of a let down, traveled a little way to get there and felt a little dissapointed, not even any committe members there to chat to.
When i arrived there was only one other car there and the car park was in pure darkness, lukily a couple of other cars arrived shortly after so i wasnt there completely alone.
in some ways i felt that maybe we had arrived on the wrong night but its been confirmed that this was the correct night, if the present committe dont seem to have the inspiration to keep the club going then it could see the end of this regional group which i feel could be a shame!
Maybe in light of comments made above by Dave Moss the regional group could pull together a committe meeting and allow new people to maybe take up a challenge to bring the group back to strength, i for one would be more than happy to help out with this!
Maybe this is what is needed!!!

Yum,
The Beds Grp years ago was like this.......
I took over 2 years ago and since it has gone from strength to strength....... imo all it needs is someone to be "up for it" and the membership will be back to its decent turnout....... I think the main key is where you have the meet, we have moved twice in 2 years and the pub we are at now is 100% spot on and we are welcomed each month (they even let my wife organise a surpize for my 30th birthday earlier this year).
I have had alot of help over the last 2 years from various people and my wife getting the Beds Grp to where it is now and I feel really proud of what we the members have acheived over this time, all you need is a few like minded people and the Middlesex Grp will be back to its former glory...

its a shame really,, cos i really used to enjoy meeting up with folk locally 
but i must say the pf middx meet is looking good and had a really good turnout
last month so i'll be going there from now on

i am sad to see this happen. I remember the Middlesex regional day as one of the biggest and now its all gone to shit 
I wouldnt mind helping out either
So in all fairness - we pay our RSOC membership and get fook all
except a poxy magazine which is always late and less informative than fast ford or perf ford - whats the point? Its obvious the club are not interested in its members anymore.

beds group is a fooking good meet, same as the essex meet, the best thing about the beds meet is its not all different groups of people not talking to the people they dont know
all the beds group have a chat and a laugh
oh and tbh the drive is a fooking good one too

I will second what steve said (steve @ scc) i whent to the very first beds meet and for six months they were only four or five cars there. now look at it .
its proberly due to steve and clairs hard work, hopefully you will get it sorted.

Sorry if i,m missing the point but if so many people are sad to see the colapse of the Midx group then why dont you all pull together, find another venue and attend once a month.
I,m a Beds member a too have witnessed the growth of the group. It seems to me all you need is a few VERY dedicated individuals to steer things in the right direction and you,ll too be strugling to get all the cars in the car park like we do.
I would also say that its important to make members from other groups welcome. We have members from the Northants group regularly attend ( to whom the Landlord i,m sure is Very Gratefull
) and others from various other groups.

think ya need a good person to make a real go at it, look at grant and nikki, mafe the southend meets famous 
, ya would be suprised how many customers of mine know about the southend meet on the first wednesday of the month
and as for steve and claire, thats a top meet, ya feel really really welcome too
and the drive there and back is the tits ( like switch hitting the limiter in 3rd on the way and warping me brake disks too , he only drove it there )
just needs the heart and also dont forget the members make the meets what they are
clicky meets aint as good as the people think, grant is the first person from the esex rsoc that introduced himself to me when i arrived when i was on my own, he never waited till i was wiht a face he knew
that shows his people skills

thats such a nice thing to put 
sure I can speak for myself and I'm hoping Grant too,,,makes up very proud, I'm shocked ya customers know about it too Speak to Juile if you lot are concerend about whats happening with the club and its future! Shes more then helpful
I think that if the £5k however went straight into the main RSOC is unfair if the club was to fold (which I'm hoping it don't of course
) why should they get it when other people have put all the hard work it!!Dave you was one of the 1st to tell me there was too much politics involved in the RSOC, now ya wanna get back in there!! No offence huni,,,but you sure!!
Its a shame to see it close if it was too,,,but as most above have said,,,it seems like if's and but's at the moment!! So prehaps contact Julie and wait and see what she comes back with!
Its that time of year also remember when people don't really want to come out anymore
They get cold & cars get tucked up for winter (aawwwhhh ), so you will see a drop in heads!!x x x

hiya peeps
the person who is now semi in charge is having a meeting with me next week to discuss a future venue and situation with the meet!!!
the reason that the bar has been shut on the last few meets is that the number of attendees has dropped and the landlord has been a little unfair in saying that it isn't worth his while opening the bar to a small amount of people and him to pay his staff etc etc !!1
so please be assured that we are on the case and will work hammer and tongs to bring it back!!!

i remeber the meets pulling in approx 60-70 people in one evening!!!!
we will have a word with the landlord and see if he is gonna entertain us or not....
if not then we will have to move the venue.....this will be done by asking all of you guyz/girlz and going by the majority!!!
