If we dont let the Rich get richer in this country, they wont choose to pay tax here anymore, and we'll all end up worse off.

Cant stand it when people like yourself rant and rave without any basic understand of economic principles at all.

If you increase tax on the rich people they just decide to leave.

Thats take home right? Not gross?

Chips is right about the rich. Their investment is worth more than their tax to the goverment.

However, i do feel you are right about the lazy bastards. Most be have a go at imigrants as being a drain on our state but in my experience all the imigrants i know work bloody hard and pay a good chunk of tax. Its the healthy, young british drop outs that this country seems to let free load that do my head in.

Don't the Rich set up a business so they don't pay the same Tax rate as us ???

Its just a shame that the middle class is being targeted once again to pay for other issues, which is most of us.

Just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel atm

No, they have the majority of their assets managed/registered off shore eg the caymen islands.

I expect you won't find a wealthy person (10mil+) paying more than 15% income tax and more likely under 10%.

no one really objects to paying tax, but when the tax burden is over 50p in the pound and will only rise further it makes you wonder why? and where is it going?

why = because you dont really take any notice of whats really happening every little thing is just a small increase, but if they taxed you more in your wage packet then you'd all see that straight away, then they would never get away with such robbery.

where is it going = well they pay there own kids 30k+ a year and for what, to do fuck all thats what you think they pay for that out of there wages? like fook.

now if everyone used the voting system like its designed the country would'nt be in such shiite. vote them in- if they don't do what they say they will vote them out. over time they'll get the message that the people as a majority won't stand for the crap they say.

rant over now lol

People are fucking dreaming if you think you can live ok on the dole.

Mate of mine is, and tho he has his rent paid for, 35 fucking quid a week or whatever is it means he has fuck all. Fuck bollocks all.

Trouble is due to all his previous for everything under the sun he struggles to even get trusted enough to work on the bins, never mind a proper job.

I think to cover my bills at least on a 120k odd house i'd need 15k or so in my hand down here in the south!
i earn a bit more than that in my hand but not much more so its lucky i have a partner with a second income otherwise i'd realy be skint!
bout time we had elections this gordon brown really pisses me off

it is a case of pay all your money to the tax man and he lets you have a little bit back
if you decide to get two jobs that normally puts you in the 40% tax bracket
best thing to do is be a rodney or a gypo

40% tax bracket means you pay 40% on anything you earn ABOVE a certain amount.

It doesn't back track and mean that ALL your pay is now taxed at 40%

I think I may already know that one some how have you seen one of my bills lol
you probably won't remember but in the 70's it was 40% of the lot they also had a 90% tax bracket and that was 90% of th elot above a certain threshold
so everyone made sure they weren't 1p over the thresholds .It was very much like the stamp duty thresholds but the precentages were subatantially higher
