I seem to remember going through all this same stuff with the first focus RS, its not like ford have never mate a fwd RS is it they have made pleanty and all have been sucessfull, its a shame that it wont be 4wd but it will still sell ok and personally I'd rather have ford make a FWD RS than none at all. As for people who are saying its just a warmed over ST, the same comparrisoms could be made between many of the XR's and RS of the past and even further back than that one could compare sport model escorts to there RS relatives and say they where warmed over?

I think what annoys people about Ford at the moment is they seem happy with being runners up to Subaru & Mitsubishi. We know they can build great cars as they've done it in the past. The Focus has all the makings of a great car & successor to the Cosworth but Ford for its own reasons doesn't want to make it. The ST is a good car for the money but the RS was meant to be the Top of the tree, limited addition, enthusiasts car. So what if it lost money the idea was to get people into the show room to buy a model they could afford. For owners who did buy one to know that someone in 10yrs time would still want it, so the resale was good.

i think it looks the bollox nice and aggressive 300 bhp std i wouldnt need to convince myself of anything if i wanted it id fuckin buy it i make my own mind up ive just uprated my work car tdci 05 focus it has full st rear beam and suspension all round ive drove some fast well put together cars with all the top bollox kit on and i tell ya sumat i bet half of you if you drove an st would be very impressed how they handle already to improve on that will do for me no problem im havin one swung me back from an evo im waiting
