Default Small Turbo Escos ECU's?

Are the ECU's key coded to their original car? As I need to try my ECU in another small turbo, but a couple of people recon that the ECU is locked to it's original car unless you recode all the keys?

Could be wrong, but I thought if the key has the red or blue immobiliser blob in the end then yes, they are.

If you have a chipped key, then yes - but not to the car - just the ECU and key are paired.....
