thats true (jtech) just looking along the lines that they used a different block for the rally scene ie rs500 that they did in there road going version.if you see where i am coming from rally versions are under more stress of course.

they couldnt use different blocks, they had to be in a production car...

exactly why they ever made the rs500....so it was a production car, and had the strong bits.....

500being the least ammount they could make, and claim as a production car,

The RS500 shared its block with its race counter parts...it was the whole point of the RS500 existance.

Of course, they had to make 500 'RS500's' for homogolation

they couldnt use different blocks, they had to be in a production car...
Thats why I asked:-

how many 4x4's were produced? 12k? IIRC they had to do 2,500 homogolation (or was it 5k?) so could some of the other 9,500 that were produced differ slightly?
As is it a possibility?

Ah sod it, cossie604, lets have some more of your perversions, I'm not one of the PF incrowd, no-ones ever going to answer me

Mechanic28, now you've thrown a spanner in the works

1970 1302s (still got)
1986 series1 turbo
1989 series 2 replica..still turbo'd
1986 3dr cossie.
Along with numerous runarounds.

Add to this 19yrs working in garages from a DeTomaso specialists where I served my apprentiship from the age of 12 working saturday mornings up until the ago of 20 when I then moved on thru numerous independants inc a small garage that did alot of 1960's restoration work Along with being in the posistion of forman at three of them Ive also been an mot tester for the past 9yrs. Now on my second main dealership as its easy work...had enuff of working with rusty crap such as 80's Rover's.

One of the Rover production line workers even said they made rubbish cars in the 80's during an interview for a news channel during the period of the closure of the company

I answered that question previous, this other post of mine was in reply to your question of what cars ive owned...which read to me like you were working up to a reply along the lines of what do I know about 80's Rovers to comment on their crappy-ness....your quite new to posting in car forums aint ya, you need to choose your words wisely or you'll end up like Dingy on here or me with Kris on the Derby boards
