Default Roof Lining

My roof lining needs a good clean and has also started to sag at the rear.

Whats the best way of cleaning and mending it ?

Steve.

there isnt really anything unfortunately as far as i know.

due to the nature of the roof lining, its a foam backed fabric onto the cardboard frame. any attempt in cleaning generally causes the fabric to come unstuck or ripple the fabric.

heres another option took 2 hours in all including removal and refitting

how it started

new fabric on

refitted looking mint

went to the local triming place bought 1.5 m of foam backed fabric one can of high strengh spray glue and the results i think speak for them selves well worth 40 quid
would harder with a saff due to needing to remove the window(if you want to do it loz i will help)

Could you tell me what holds the back of the cowling (by the handle) against the lining.

Its properly gonna be a tight fit but can the head lining not come out between the gap behind the back seats.

it might do but the backing is quite fragile i would be concerned about creasing it, are saff back windows bonded or on seals?

I know of the two above the interior light after you take light out, i call that the fornt edge. So its the back edge im asking about. Do you mean you have the sunroof open and two screws are there.

Does that mean the metal plate is part of the cowling or the roof. Too late for a pic of yours now the lining is back in I guess?
