cheers people.like i say not my best pics but i am learning to use the slr on manual rather than auto so some are iffy.

Tib,lee im really pissed that the ones i took of yours are blurry.quite badly.whicj annoyed me as you know ive always loved your car.
as for your comment on mine.lol i thank you. tbh it seems to have broke the rules for alot of people.

Ginge, cheers bud.now realising how many people were there that i talk to on here but dont have a clue who they were.
as for the rims. its not quite rim tape. it was a pinstripe for the side of a car.if you look close there is only one join, not four. i sat on my arse in my lounge for hours putting them on and trying to get them round and tidy.
and i appriciate the comment from someone who generally doesnt like the escorts

Davecos4x4, between you and si b i had reall trouble getting good panning shots.i got two of yours on that straight that were ok but not a single one of si b's at all i guess you two were just too quick for me.

I think the pin stripe and all the odd lil bits of red is what makes it. Rim tape on its own has been done.

Just the right amount of colour in the right places IMO

hes risked being abit different on his ecos and tried something most people wouldnt, which makes the car imo...

i think the bits of red on it look very smart, just breaks it up..

wow,im blown away by all the comments! i thank you all.

STAVROS, steve im completely stunned by your comments.to have you,who normally hates the fact that these cars all look alike and all run the same sort of wheels(mo's)with sensible offsets is stunning is superb.i know how hard you are to please and i respect your opinion mate.thanks

LAMBCHOP,it wouldnt do if we all liked the same thing would it.but i can happily take critism on anything.i say what i feel myself so theres no need for any apologies.

PAUL EGGLETON,the power is an issue at the mo matey.but she is meant to be near 430-450ish but isnt performing for an unknown reason at the mo

CLAIRE,i take it you were the nice young lady i saw down near the concours area?if so yes thanks and at least i know what you look like now too

KELV,cheers matey.its not a bad pic of mine tbh.but wouldve been better without the people in the background.

Cracking Pics - Saw your Pinstriped Escos and loved it - SLR cams are not easy to use - I am trying to get blurred backround shots too, but getting the car in focus is a nightmare - Still...Pracise makes perfect

Honestly...I use the Preset modes for most stuff, (Usually Sport Mode for fast car shots)but have been experimenting with Full Manual.....Trial and error....Mostly Error so far! lol

Want to get a stand and try 'bulb' shots of car headlights at night

Want to get a stand and try 'bulb' shots of car headlights at night

ignore all them auto settings.they mean crap all strangely enough.

if yu want to get track pics with blurry background and foreground then you need to use shutter priority.(tv on the canon knob) then set the shutter speed with the roller button on the top to 125th of a sec for most of the time.you can experiment around these times too.

if you want to do blurrybackground and fore ground on a stationary item it all depends on your lens.a 300 lens can do a better job than a 55. but you needto set it in apperture piority(av on the canon) and adjust the apperture to a narrow apperture for more blur,r wider for less and widest for none
as for night pics of cars.i havent tried that yet.i want to g on a shoo in london for that.but you MUST have a tripod tbh as you cannot hold it still for the length of time the shutter will b open

As bullet says, only manual I tend to use a lot is the shutter one.

Thats how I get "motion" shot like these:

any on track picture should show the car sharp, the background blurred with motion and the wheels blurred with rotation.

If you take them on auto, it all looks like the car is just parked, like so:

Which frankly, is just total wank, you get no senstation at all from that one!

PS

I was down to about 20th-30th on those ones not 125th liek bullet says, at 125th, you tend to get less blur, but on the other hand its easier to keep the car sharp, the slower it is the steadier you hand needs to be!

tripod is a must really for anything stationary if you want to get it right.

I often use a makeshift tripod though, ie lean on something handly like a fence post or another car or whatever, just anything that holds the camera still really.

it does all depend on the speed of the object as to what shutter speed too.
must admit im suprised mine came out as good as they did tbh as ive had a bad streak lately

If you are going for a front quarter style shot then you will need to go with something like 1/160th or faster to keep it sharp:

If you are going for a side on shot on a straight then 1/125th or slower can be used:

Chip - i'm not sure how you were using 1/30th but thats going to be one blurry shot
