Just shot 76 round the Old Course, St. Andrews..
over the moon with me card and been in No1 golf place ever since on the ale
The wind was a fucker all day had to keep it really low off the tee.
missed a 6 foot for birdie on 18 ...... loads of people watching
WHAT AN EXPERIANCE!!
Anyone on here who plays golf will understand
I'll scan me card and put it as me screen saver
Off to Anstruther tomorrow (with hang over) and play proper links golf and then eat the best fish and chips in the world
Cheers,
Jim.

Spot on... I've not long started playing golf and shot an 87 round my local 18-hole course (not far from St Andrews) and almost shit myself with joy. That score at the Old Course is pretty special, well done mate.
Cheers,
Grant

Your up my neck of the woods!!
My parents live right next to the dukes course!!
Im sure a member of the rsoc is the pro their.
Hope the weather dies down for you tomorrow. There is nothing worse playing a links course on a windy, pissy day.

A truely amazing feet Jim!
Even though you shot a 76 I bet you where gutted to miss the birdie put???? Be honest!!ha ha
I don't think some people will every know how good of a score you have just shot on that course alone, NEVER mind the weather conditions!
Especially when you go to watch the pro's play there and they struggle to make 80!
How long are you up there for?
I am going to Lower Largo, Fife this Saturday for a week of mainly links golf. I can't wait!!!
We are not going to St.Andrews but we are playing around the area. 6 rounds of golf, 7 nights, 1 presentation and a few bevvies!! ha ha

Not bad at all Jim, 76 in a breeze is a fairly good whack round there.
I have a season ticket for the Links and used to play it every night after work! Like everythin you get fed wi it eventually but you always look forward to holes 1, 17 and 18.

seen as you are the pro in the area you may be able to help me out with a bit of advice. We are coming up to Scotland tomorrow for a week playing 6 courses in the fife/lower largo area. On sunday we are playing Ludin Links, we are all really looking forward to this as it's mean't to be a cracker of a course. But what the internet says and what it is is two different things?
Is it any good?
Sorry to hijack!!!

we always stop on the boarders on the way up and have a round. This year we stayed in peebles (too many tennants ) then up early in the morning and played cardrona. Cracking course, really enjoyed it. Then its off to the forth bridge.
Love golf in Scotland, look forward to it every year.
