depends on how you drive, it takes a totally different technique to make a FWD car go round a track fast than it does in a RWD car.

FWD is a lot easier to get along with and less intimidating IMHO

Not really, gay wheel drive you just keep your toe down, and worst that'll happen is a bit of predictable safe understter - hence they're used as driving school cars, as opposed to rear wheel drive being used by proper drivers.
The 4x4 and ayc you have to keep your foot buried, and can take some getting used to, and some big balls IMO.

So fwd, or 4x4 with ayc etc, why did they bother with all that technology and expense if it's no better, and fwd defies the laws of physics?

Appreciate that mate, but fwd (2 wheels driven at wrong end) vs 4x4 (4 driven wheels plus ayc forcing it round), not much to compare there.

The point of the tread,

No mention of corners, the nurburgring or even how much it beat it by.
A nose length? a car length? 5?
Only the thread starter knows that. All we have is he beat it.

We all know the M3 is a great car, the focus Rs is also a great car.
Both are top of their respective classes for what they deliver.

The end

and what might happen if you start getting safe understeer with your toe down and you lift off suddenly? on something like an FRS with it's trick diff, things are a lot less predictable than a driving school nissan micra and it takes skill to get the best out of it. the m3 will allow you to keep your toe in, as it has ESP

They have almost identical power to weight, within one or two brake, so taking drivetrain loss into account, the Honda will have a better power to weight going to the road.
How many hairpin corners on that track?!

none - only 2 corners are taken in 2nd gear

CHeeky fuck i can fucking drive mate and when the rs was on h&r's and paradas i knew its limits it was very punchly set up and went awesome. The evo was mint and the ayc i had done when i brought it even though it was perfect.

in the dry my rs would have outpaced my evo after 50
