Default spark plug prices....

why is there such a price difference in say a cossie plug to a skyine plug?? what are there difference in heat ratings of each and can any type of cossie plug be used in a skyline?? reluctant to spend silly amounts on plugs advertised for skylines when it could just be due to "skyline tax"

Asking here as most skyline owners havnt a clue and just pay someone whatever it costs to sort..

So long as the plug is the correct dimension and has a adequate heat range then it will be fine, most problems occur because of extremes of temps ie a tuned engine going slow all the time will foul, but sticking in a hotter running plug to combat carbon fouling and it may damamge at higher speeds/loads, so at best it is a comprosmise.
I can't comment of skyline plugs as don't know the heat range etc, but there is a lot of hype about anything if it makes a profit!!

I don't know the the type of plug used in either but it's quite possible the Cossy plug is/was a very commonly used one and costs are lower due to volume production (or the fact cossy owners might have to change plugs for every trip).
Whereas the Skyline plug may be in limited use and doesn't have the production volumes to keep the price down.

Having done a quick search, I don't understand the post.

From the same supplier same quality plug, NGK IX

Set for Skyline = £44.50 For 6 plugs that's = £7.41 each

Set for Cossy = £28.98 for 4 plugs that's = £7.24 each

17p per plug difference..

You are allowing for Cossy = 4 plugs.
Skyline = 6 plugs I assume?
