Important Headgasket questions.....
Hi,
Took the head off my s2 erst today but I'm unsure on a couple of things.
Firstly, what do you use to clean the top of the block and pistons to get all the crap off, my mate who is a mechanic said WD40 & emery paper, is this correct ?
Secondly, when we were looking at the block we noticed that a waterway had been blocked off, its the one on the left hand side next to piston no1 at the front of the block, anyone know why
cheers, Duncan

What do you mean when you say the carbon forms a seal , seal against what ?
We have allready cleaned the top of piston 1, my mate said all you do is turn the crank to lower the piston and then wipe away from inside the bore all the WD40 etc that has leaked down, this should be ok shouldn't it
