Default Turbo exhaust on n/a car

I am preparing my v6 xr4x4 track car for croft and have a 2wd cosworth magnex exhaust sitting doing nothing. My xr is standard and i was thinking of using the exhaust on it,but will it make performance, and more importantly, noise a lot worse?

i know its not a ford but Lees parents old subaru ( non turbo ) had a turbo exhaust on and it made an absolutely horrendous drone, used to really give you an earache when driving it

didnt make a bean of performance different just really bloody loud

Yeah, i thought it might be the case. I sold my xr4i twin turbo to a guy who sold the turbo conversion, and it was loud as it was,he put a n/a v6 in it,and he said the noise was horrendous. Looks like a pcs back box on the standard system then.

I think its because turbo exhaust systems have a huge bore which is why they sound like rattling dustbins. I reckon if you stuck a silencer or two on it it would be OK.
