Dukeries Rally 2008, My Photographs
I headed out for the day with my Dad for this event, chanced the showers forecast and it paid off as we only had a 20 min downpour all day, so can't complain.
I opted for the Sherwood Pines stage, quite pleased with the first lot from the tight bend, but headed deeper into the woods and struggled with harsh sunlight on one angle so had to face the opposite way for on-coming cars through the second of 2 good bends.
I shot all these using a Nikon D50, Sigma 70-300mm APO DG II, Nikon 18-70mm.
You can see all images here:http://www.djaphoto.co.uk/media/main.php?g2_itemId=1283
Anyway, here's a few tasters...

Stunning shots Dan
205's Frazer 3 or 4 in the main field and 3 in the 1400's I think.
I was running chase car for my mate Gary in the 1.4 MGZR car 222 if you got any before the fuel pump died
Good event overall and some cracking shots.
Won by Car 5 Dave Weston in the Ramsport run MSport Focus WRC

Thanks everyone for looking, glad you all like
Mark, the settings were shutter priority set at 1/320s, RAW and exposure compensation would have been widely used due to harsh sun then dark clouds so alot of messing about was required lol and my lens of choice was a Sigma 70-300mm APO DG II f4-5.6.
I will have a look, was it an orange MG Nuts?
This was the iwnner, correct?
Typical, not a very good shot by me either lol doh!

Really?
I didn't know that!
Do you do the BTRDA events often?
I'm trying to go to the Rally of the Midlands this weekend...it's not a BTRDA rally, more a local car club one, they use Mallory by all accounts as one tarmac stage, could be fun

Most BTRDA ones yes.
Rally of the Midlands was ok last year I think we finished 5th o/a
33 yards over the bridge in one of the stages, cleared all but 1 photographer and took the record lol
Last years Mallory thread by Martyn to give you an idea

Have a good day Dan we are off to Brunters instead :-(

Nuts...whats the crack with Mallory anyway?
I see they are using it for certain sections of the Rally, but can't see shit about times of cars or anything lol?
Tried ringing the circuit but all phones are busy!
I'm guessing if I went for 9am I'm sure to find something aren't I lol
What time did you run there last year? Is it an all-day thing?
