Default Help value an Evo 6 please? How easily do they sell?

I have the option to buy a nice Evo 6 at a nice price. I am considering buying it, running until my insurance is out in september and then selling it if i havent before that.

Its a 99 model 6 GSR and i *think* its an import.

47k miles
FULL history inc recent service.
3 owners
navy blue (icelle blue i think?)
full stainless
2 month old ap organic clutch
some sort of boost controller, apexi maybe.
air filter of sorts
340 bhp

i think thats all i remember for now.

I'm viewing tonight so will get a better idea. I've heard it might be needing discs and pads all round and potential front drive shaft.

How much for discs and pads?
how much for a shaft?

Anyone wanna place a value on the car when brakes and shaft are done?

More importantly, how easy are they to sell? I ask because im looking as it as a way to make some money and also get a couple months use through summer.

cheers

chop

I'd say anything between 9k & 11k snitch.

Edited to say they aren't really selling well at the moment but I dont think any cars are selling well unless they're cheap.

As you said if you get £9k back for it you'll be making money so it's all good.
Even if you use the car for 6 months & get back what you paid for it that's sorted.

Buy it, track it all through the summer, give it a polish then sell it on.

Loads of fun and a bit of cash made at the end of it

Get it bought.

tell him to replace the disc's and pads, and cover the cost of the clunking noise and offer no more than 8.5k for it cause for a couple grand more you can buy a VII gsr or even an VIII 260

No probs mate i bought mine it was clunking & threw a new drive shaft at it & made no difference.Joined the MLR & found this out got it sorted for less than £200 quid. But the £500 on a shaft was lost I think i got my brakes for mine from camskill think that the name very reasonable.

I'd be offering less than 8.5k,, sounds like 6.5k to 7k max, with the probs...

An evo v11 gsr can be bought for 8.5k too

If it has a boost gauge i would make sure it was holding boost ect as well & not fuel cutting.I had probs because the actuator is upside down the water runs in it & perishes the diaphram.Quick sort is to fit a evo 8 one that has a bell over it to cure this.

Depends if u want decent brakes or not - standard are about £130 but Godspeed do a decent brake disc set up, try Carbotech pads instead of Brembo or Ds2500 too. As for knocking noises theres a million threads on Mlr about it, could be anything really, just live with it

Cant see the pic you put up mate work filter is blocking it.

I wouldnt advise living with the knock especially if you are going to sell it on
as ppl know to look for it it will be a put off straight away

It's true the cheapest ones are going for £7k, but usually they're either high mileage or poor condition.

A mint 6 with low miles and usual mods will be £10-£11k IMO.

If you buy an average condition car cheap, then i doubt you'll make any money on it.

Default evo 6

one is white with white alloys as far as i know it hasnt even got a dump valve, it has around 60,000kms and one is bright yellow with 80km which is standard. but both these boys work in the trade which i spose makes life easier!
